Security and compliance
Custody you can
show someone.
Each certification and permit is named with its reference, so you can check it yourself or hand it to an auditor.
- NSAI certified to three standards
- Collection and facility permits held
- A movement history for every box and file
Certification
What we are certified to, and what each one covers
Every certification, permit and membership covers every service on your account, from collection to destruction.
Quality management
ISO 9001:2015 · NSAI certifiedThe quality management standard. It governs how work is defined, recorded and checked, and how problems are found and corrected, which in practice is what makes a collection, an intake, a retrieval and a destruction repeatable whoever is on that day.
Certification means an NSAI auditor inspects that system and signs it off.
Environmental management
ISO 14001:2015 · NSAI certifiedThe environmental management standard. It governs what happens to paper at the end of its life: shredded material goes to recycling partners and comes back as new paper-based products, and nothing goes to landfill.
It is also why the A4 sub-archive box is pure cardboard with no metal mechanism, so the whole thing can be destroyed and recycled together.
Secure destruction of confidential material
I.S. EN 15713:2009 · NSAI certifiedThe standard written specifically for confidential destruction. It covers the security of the premises and how confidential material is collected, handled, transported, stored and destroyed, from the point of collection through to the completion of destruction.
EN 15713 is a European standard, adopted in Ireland as I.S. EN 15713:2009, which is why it carries the EN prefix.
Data protection practice
GDPR audited · 2026Handling other people's records means handling other people's personal data, so the practice around it is audited. When a box is catalogued, only the name written on the outside of each folder is captured, and the contents stay closed.
Files travel in secure bags, movements are logged against a barcode, and destruction happens only on your written instruction with a certificate issued afterwards.
Waste collection permit
NWCPO-08-01122 · National Waste Collection Permit OfficeThe permit that covers taking confidential material away and moving it on the road. It is issued by the National Waste Collection Permit Office and is what makes a collection lawful as well as secure.
Holding it is why the same vehicle can take your boxes from your office to the point of destruction.
Waste facility permit
WFG-FG-15-0006 · Fingal County CouncilThe permit that covers the site itself: the facility that receives confidential material, processes it and sends it on for recycling, granted and inspected by the local authority.
Holding both permits means material stays inside permitted hands from the moment it leaves your office to the moment it is recycled.
Industry membership
i-SIGMA Service Provider Member · 2026i-SIGMA, the International Secure Information Governance & Management Association, is the trade association for secure data destruction and records management, and the body NAID became part of when it merged with PRISM International in 2018. It enforces standards and ethical compliance across the industry.
Cyclone holds Service Provider Membership in good standing, current for 2026, at group level. Membership runs alongside the EN 15713 certification. An auditor inspects against the standard, and the association sets the industry practices behind it.

Chain of custody
What is on the record for every box
Every movement is logged against the box's barcode, from the day it is labelled to the day it is destroyed.
A barcode for life
Every box has its own barcode from the moment it is labelled. It stays with that box through a rebox and back again, so the same box is always the same record.
Every movement logged
Collection, intake, shelf position, every retrieval out and every return in. A file pulled from a box is barcoded on the way out and re-filed on the way back.
A certificate at the end
Destruction produces a certificate recording the date, the method and the quantity destroyed, and nothing is destroyed until you have confirmed the list.
